Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a Special Interest Group (SIG) that exists under the auspices of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), and its members are from U.S. and many other geographical areas of the world.

The ESD SIG is an academic group founded in spring 2010 through the initiative of Dr. Ligia Toutant with support from its members.

The purpose of the CIES ESD SIG is to advance scholarship, provide a forum for discussion, facilitate communication and partnerships among its members who are aware of and engaged in ecological sustainability and education.

Join the CIES SIG ESD today! When you join CIES or renew your CIES membership, you may send your SIG membership along with your CIES membership ($10 for one year).

Please visit the CIES Membership webpage to join or renew on-line. Our mission statement is available here.
